Product details

The Hayward Perflex Jet Action Filter Cleaning Wand, EC2024 is the jet-action cleaning wand Hayward designed to help clean DE and cartridge filters, including Perflex DE filters. It is a Brand OEM Hayward accessory.

How it works

The wand attaches to a regular garden hose. When the water is on, it sends the flow out at a right angle, which raises the pressure of the stream so it can be aimed into the filter fabric to dislodge hardened debris.

On a Perflex filter

Hayward says the wand can be inserted into the drain port of a Perflex filter to remove caked-on DE from the top of the filter. That lets you clear old DE without fully dismantling the filter.

On a cartridge filter

Hayward's XStream cartridge filter manual names the EC2024 for cleaning a removed cartridge element, working top down with the nozzle held at a 45 degree angle. The same manual says not to pressure wash, and notes that hosing may not remove all dirt, so brush the pleated surfaces and let the element dry.

Ordering

The wand is a service tool rather than a wear part, so one normally lives with the rest of the maintenance kit. Order by part number EC2024.
