Product details

This is the Hayward ECX4201CA inlet assembly with check valve for the Perflex EC60, EC65 and EC70 DE filters built in 1989 and prior. It is a molded plastic assembly with the check valve included.

What it does

Water enters the Perflex tank through this assembly. The check valve inside it is what holds the tank full when the pump stops. Without it, water drains back down the inlet line, the level drops and the DE coat falls off the flex tubes, so the filter has to be recoated every time the pump cycles.

Hayward changed the inlet on later Perflex filters. This part covers the 1989 and prior build of the EC60, EC65 and EC70, so confirm the age of your filter and compare against the parts diagram for your exact model before ordering.

How do I know if my Perflex is a 1989 or prior model?
This assembly is listed for the earlier build of the EC60, EC65 and EC70. If your filter is newer, match the inlet against the parts diagram for your exact model before ordering.

What does the check valve prevent?
It stops water in the tank running back out through the inlet when the pump shuts down, which would dump the DE coat off the flex tubes.
