The Hayward ECX1040 is the complete bump handle assembly for Perflex DE filters, molded in Noryl and supplied with the pin, shoulder screw and nut.
What the bump handle does
A Perflex filter does not backwash. Instead you bump the handle, which flexes the tubes inside and shakes the caked DE loose so it redistributes evenly. That is the routine that brings filter pressure back down. Every one of those bumps loads the handle, which is why it is the part that usually breaks on an older filter.
Fitment
Hayward lists this handle for the Perflex EC50, EC50C, EC50A, EC50AC, EC65, EC65A, EC75 and EC75A. Because it arrives complete with its hardware, there is nothing to reuse from the broken one.
