The Hayward SPX0727E is the union nut for the Perflex filter valve. It is the genuine Hayward part, supplied in black and rated to 50 psi.
What it does
The union nut is what draws the valve connection together and holds it sealed under pressure. It takes the load every time the pump starts, and it is the piece people over tighten when a joint starts to weep. Once the threads are stripped or the nut is cracked, no amount of tightening will hold, and the nut has to be replaced.
