The Hayward SPX1485B is the plastic pump discharge elbow used on Perflex DE filter systems. It is the genuine Hayward replacement part.
What it does
The elbow turns the flow leaving the pump and carries it into the filter side of the system. It sits on the pressure side, so anything wrong with it shows up as a leak that only appears with the pump running.
When to replace it
Plastic fittings on a pressure line crack over time, and freeze damage or an over tightened union will do it faster. If you see water tracking from the elbow or a hairline split in the body, replace it rather than trying to seal it. Hayward lists this elbow with the Perflex EC65 and EC75 systems.
