What it holds
Inside a Perflex filter, the tube sheet is the plate the flex tubes mount into. The tube sheet nut is what secures that assembly in position within the tank. It is a small piece of hardware, but if it is corroded, stripped or missing, the element assembly is no longer held where it should be and the filter will not do its job.
When to replace it
