The Hayward ECX360JN is the clamp sleeve nut used on the Perflex DE filter clamp assembly. It is the genuine Hayward part, made of metal.
Why it wears out
The clamp is what pulls the filter body together and holds the seal. On a Perflex that means the fastener is loosened and retightened every time the filter is opened for service, and threads that have been cross threaded, corroded or rounded off will not pull the clamp down evenly. That shows up as a slow drip at the clamp line, or a clamp that will not tighten no matter how far the nut turns.
