Product details

The Hayward ECX1079S is the 1-1/2 in by 6 ft hose for Perflex extended cycle DE filters. It is the genuine Hayward part.

Why hoses fail

A filter hose lives outdoors under pressure and in the sun. Over the years the material hardens, the bends set into permanent kinks, and eventually a split opens along a stress point. On the suction side a failing hose pulls air into the system and the pump loses prime; on the pressure side it simply leaks.

Fitting

The hose is supplied at 6 ft and can be trimmed if your run is shorter. Using the correct Hayward hose rather than generic tubing takes the sizing guesswork out of the job and gives clamps a proper surface to seal on.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size is the hose?
1-1/2 in diameter and 6 ft long.
Which filters does it fit?
Hayward Perflex extended cycle DE filters.
Can I cut it shorter?
It comes as a 6 ft length, so a shorter run can be trimmed to fit at installation.
Why does my old hose need replacing?
Filter hoses harden, kink and split with age, heat and sun. A hose that leaks or draws air upsets the filter and can stop the system holding prime.
