Product details

The Pentair 154492 is the genuine bulkhead o-ring for 2 inch bulkhead fittings. It measures 3/16 inch in cross section with a 2-5/8 inch inside diameter and is made from rubber.

Where it goes

The bulkhead is the threaded fitting that carries water through the filter tank wall, and this o-ring is what keeps that pass through watertight. Pentair lists the part for the FNS D.E. filter, the Nautilus Plus and the Triton II. It also turns up in parts diagrams across the Triton II sand filter range, the commercial TR100C and TR140C, the PF stainless steel side mount filters and the Sea Horse FG and Mitra cartridge filters.

When to replace it

A seep or a steady drip at the bulkhead is the usual sign. O-rings take a set over time, and once the rubber has flattened or cracked no amount of tightening will bring the seal back. Because the part costs very little and is only reachable with the plumbing off, most techs change it whenever the filter is opened for other work.

What size is this o-ring?
