Product details

The Pentair 261003 is the manual bleeder with pressure gauge, 2-3/8 in, a single assembly that handles both air relief and pressure indication at the top of the filter tank.

Two jobs in one part

The bleeder vents air. Every time a filter is opened, or the pump loses prime, air collects in the top of the tank and has to be released before the filter can do its work. The gauge tells you where the filter is in its cycle: clean pressure when it is fresh, and roughly eight to ten pounds above that when it is due for service. Losing either one makes the filter harder to run properly.

Does the gauge come with it?
Yes. This is the combined assembly, bleeder and pressure gauge in one piece.
What is the air bleeder for?
It vents air trapped at the top of the filter tank. Air collects there after the tank has been opened or the pump has lost prime, and it has to come out before the filter reads and performs correctly.
My gauge reads zero with the pump running. Is the filter fine?
Probably not the filter. A gauge that reads zero under flow has usually failed or plugged. Replacing the bleeder and gauge assembly restores the reading you need to schedule cleaning.
