Quick overview

  • Genuine Pentair Factory part 195008, not an aftermarket o-ring cut to size.
  • Fits four FNS sizes Listed for FNS24, FNS36, FNS48 and FNS60 D.E. filters.
  • Seals the tank halves This is the o-ring that sits between the upper and lower halves of the filter body.
  • 18 in o-ring Sized for the FNS tank, so it seats without stretching or bunching.
  • Rubber Molded rubber, the material the filter was designed around.
  • Stops the drip at the band A tank that weeps from the seam every time the pump starts usually needs this seal, not a tighter clamp.

Product details

Pentair 195008 is the tank o-ring for FNS D.E. filters. It is the genuine Pentair part, listed for the FNS24, FNS36, FNS48 and FNS60 models, and it measures 18 in.

What it seals

An FNS filter is a two piece tank held together by a clamp band. This o-ring is what actually seals that joint. The band supplies the clamping force, but the rubber does the sealing, and when it flattens, cracks or takes a set, the tank weeps at the seam every time the pump starts up.

Replacing it

Change it whenever the filter is opened for a grid clean or a full teardown. It is cheap next to the trouble of taking the tank apart twice. Fit it clean, and use silicone based lubricant if you use any at all, since petroleum grease breaks rubber down.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which filters does this o-ring fit?
Pentair FNS D.E. filters in the FNS24, FNS36, FNS48 and FNS60 sizes.
Is it a genuine Pentair part?
Yes. It is the Pentair OEM tank o-ring, part number 195008.
My filter leaks at the seam. Is this the fix?
Usually. A tank that weeps where the two halves meet is normally a tired or pinched o-ring rather than a loose clamp band, and this is the seal in that joint.
Should I lubricate it on install?
Seat it clean and dry or with a silicone based lubricant only. Petroleum based grease attacks rubber seals and shortens their life.
