Product details

The Pentair 190092 is the internal air bleed assembly for FNS Plus D.E. filters, listed at 9.5 inches long. It is the genuine Pentair part, and it replaces the earlier part number 59023600.

Why a filter needs to bleed air

Air finds its way into every circulation system, through a leaking pump lid, a loose drain plug or simply from the water when the pump is restarted. Inside the filter it rises and collects at the top of the tank, taking up volume the water should occupy. Less water in the tank means less of the grid area is actually filtering, and the trapped air also makes pressure readings unreliable.

What failure looks like

The assembly carries the collected air up to the relief at the top of the tank. When it cracks or breaks the air stops finding its way out, which shows up as bursts of air at the returns, a tank that will not clear when you open the relief valve, and a filter that never quite reaches its normal pressure.
