The Pentair 273512Z is the PacFab air bleeder, supplied with its O-ring. It is the genuine Pentair part and covers a wide range of filter tanks and one backwash valve.
Where it fits
Pentair uses this bleeder on the Triton TR-C and TR-C3 sand filters, on the FNS and Nautilus and Nautilus Plus DE filters, and on the 1-1/2 inch 6-way Hi-Flow backwash valve. That breadth is useful, because the same part covers most of a mixed equipment pad.
Why it matters
Air collects in a filter tank and has to be let out before the system will move water properly. The bleeder is the fitting that does that. When it seizes, cracks or will not seal against its O-ring, the tank either stays full of air or drips continuously. Replacing the bleeder with a fresh O-ring puts both problems right at once.
