Before you rebuild the bulkhead
The locknut works with a bulkhead gasket and an external spacer, both separate parts. If the bulkhead has been leaking, replace the gasket at the same time rather than reusing a flattened one. A bulkhead wrench is worth having for a tank that has not been opened in years.
