The Pentair 190037 is the standpipe assembly for the 60 square foot PacFab FNS DE filter. It is the genuine Pentair replacement part.
What the standpipe does
Inside a DE filter the grids surround a central standpipe. Water is pushed through the DE coated fabric, and the clean water that comes out the other side collects in the manifold and travels up the standpipe to the filter outlet. Everything depends on that path staying sealed.
When to replace it
If the standpipe cracks, splits or the seat wears, unfiltered water takes the shortcut and goes straight out the outlet. The tell is DE powder returning to the pool after a fresh charge, or a filter that never builds normal pressure. Replacing the standpipe restores the seal that forces water to go through the grids.
