This is the Pentair 59002100 tie rod, 1/4 inch in diameter and 27-1/2 inches long, for 48 square foot DE filters. It is the rod that runs through the grid assembly and holds the pack together.

Why length matters

Tie rods look the same across a filter family and differ only in length. This one is the 48 square foot size. The 36 square foot filter uses a 21-1/2 inch rod and the 60 uses a 33-1/2 inch rod, so measure the rod you are replacing rather than going by the tank alone.
