The Pentair 190043 is the inlet pipe assembly for the PacFab FNS Plus DE filter. It is the genuine OEM part, supplied as a complete assembly.
What it does
The inlet pipe runs inside the tank and carries incoming water from the port into the filter body. Getting that water delivered where the design intends is what keeps the flow off the grid faces, so a cracked or missing inlet pipe shows up as grids that tear or blow out far sooner than they should.
Service note
Because the part is internal, the tank has to be opened to reach it. That is the right moment to look over the tank o-ring and the grid assembly, since the labor is already spent on getting inside.
