Waterway 805-0460 is the tank lid O-ring for the Clearwater II filter, with a 16-1/4 inch outside diameter. It is the seal between the lid and the tank, and it is what lets a filter hold pressure without leaking.
The symptom
A lid ring almost always announces itself the same way. The filter is fine while the pump is off, then weeps, drips or sprays from the lid seam once the system comes up to pressure. Pull the lid and the old ring will usually be flat sided instead of round, hard instead of supple, or nicked from a previous opening.
Fitting it
Clean the groove and the sealing face before the new ring goes in, since a single piece of grit will hold the joint open. Use a silicone based lubricant intended for pool O-rings and keep petroleum grease away from it.
