Product details

The Pentair 87300400Z is the tank body o-ring used across several Pentair filter systems. It is the genuine Pentair part, and it measures 9-1/2 in. outside diameter.

Which filters

EasyClean DE inground filter systems, Clean and Clear and Predator filter systems in the 75, 150 and 200 square foot sizes, and Warrior filter systems.

What it does

The ring seals the two halves of the filter tank against each other so the vessel holds pressure. Over seasons of heat, chemicals and clamping it hardens and takes a set, and the joint starts to weep. Replacing it is the first and usually the only fix for a leak at that seam.

Fitting

Because the tank has to be open to reach it, the sensible time to change the o-ring is during a cartridge or grid cleaning, when the filter is already apart.

That is the tank body seal, and this is the o-ring for it. A ring that has taken a set, hardened or split lets the joint weep under pressure.
