Product details

The Pentair 178548Z is the replacement tank lid for the Clean and Clear RP 100 square foot cartridge filter, supplied in almond. It is the genuine Pentair part.

Match the square footage

Clean and Clear RP lids are size specific. This one is for the 100 square foot filter; the 150 and 200 square foot models use a different lid entirely. The square footage is printed on the filter label, so check it before you order.

Why lids fail

The tank lid holds full system pressure every time the pump starts, and it does that outdoors in the sun for years. Eventually the plastic crazes, a hairline crack opens, and the filter starts weeping from the top. A weeping lid does not get better, and epoxy on a pressure vessel is not a repair.

While you are in there

This listing is the lid alone. The tank body o-ring is a separate part and it is the obvious thing to renew at the same time, since the filter is already open.

Will this fit my 150 or 200 square foot Clean and Clear RP?
No. 178548Z is the 100 square foot lid. The 150 and 200 square foot filters take a different tank lid, so check the square footage on your filter label first.
What color is it?
Almond, matching the Clean and Clear RP tank.
Does the o-ring come with it?
No. This is the tank lid on its own. The tank body o-ring is a separate Pentair part, and it is worth replacing while the filter is open.
Why would a filter lid need replacing?
Filter tops take full system pressure every time the pump runs, and years of sun and pressure cycles craze the plastic. Once it starts to weep or a hairline crack shows, the lid is replaced rather than sealed.
