Product details

The Waterway 522-5167-6S pairs a ClearWater II 150 sq. ft. cartridge filter with a 1.5 HP Hi-Flo II two speed pump, sold as one system for above ground pools. The pump comes with a 3 ft NEMA cord.

Cartridge filtration

A cartridge filter has no backwash valve and sends no water to waste. When the pressure gauge climbs, the cartridge comes out, gets a rinse with a garden hose and goes back in. 150 square feet of filter area means longer runs between cleanings than a small cartridge.

Two speed pump

The Hi-Flo II runs on low speed for everyday circulation, which is quieter and uses less power, and switches to high for vacuuming, priming or a fast turnover. Because Waterway sizes the pump and filter together, the pair is matched from the start rather than assembled from separate parts.

Is this for an above ground pool?
Yes. The ClearWater II filter and Hi-Flo II pump are the Waterway above ground pool pair, sold together as one system.
Why a two speed pump?
Low speed moves water for everyday filtering with less noise and less electricity. High speed is there for vacuuming, priming and turning the pool over quickly after a storm or a party.
Do I have to backwash a cartridge filter?
No. When pressure climbs, shut the pump off, pull the cartridge and rinse it with a garden hose, then put it back. There is no backwash valve and no water sent to waste.
What comes in the box?
