Pentair FNS Plus DE Filter, 48 Sq. Ft., FNSP48

The Pentair FNS Plus 48 is a vertical grid diatomaceous earth filter for inground pools, model FNSP48, part number EC-180008. With 48 square feet of grid area it handles larger residential pools and delivers the fine filtration D.E. is known for.

Tank and plumbing

The tank is fiberglass reinforced polypropylene, chosen for strength and corrosion resistance over a long service life. Plumbing connections are a full 2 in. for maximum flow, and a 1 in. drain is positioned so the tank cleans out faster and drains completely.

Living with D.E.

D.E. grids catch finer particles than sand or cartridge media, which is why D.E. pools tend to look the clearest. In exchange, you backwash when pressure rises and add fresh D.E. through the skimmer to recoat the grids. This filter ships by freight.
