Product details

The Hayward W3EC40AC is the Perflex Extended-Cycle DE filter with 20 sq ft of filter area and a clamp lid. It is the complete filter, not a part for one.

How it filters

Diatomaceous earth filters catch finer particles than sand or cartridge media, and the Perflex removes particles as small as two microns the first time water passes through it. That is what gives DE filtered water its clarity.

The extended cycle

The patented Flex-Tube element design is the difference. Rather than discarding the DE coating at every cleaning, the Perflex reuses the same powder over and over, which stretches the interval between cleanings and keeps the running cost of media down.
