Product details

The AquaStar PipeLine PLF35000 is a cartridge filter with 250 square feet of filter area and a maximum flow rate of 200 GPM, certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 50. It is the larger of the two PipeLine models, with the PLF27000 below it.

Capacity

AquaStar rates the PLF35000 by turnover. That is 35,640 gallons on a 6 hour public pool turnover, 47,520 gallons on an 8 hour turnover, and 144,000 gallons on a 12 hour residential turnover. The residential design filtration flow rate is 200 GPM and the public design flow rate is 99 GPM. Local codes may specify lower flow rates, so check them against your pool.

Plumbing and clearances

The filter connects with PVC unions that are included, 2 inch female slip socket inside and 2-1/2 inch male spigot outside. The maximum working pressure is 50 psi and must never be exceeded, even during hydrostatic pressure tests. It needs 76 inches of vertical clearance to lift the cartridge out and 6 inches of horizontal clearance. The replacement cartridge is model PF35000.

Cleaning

Clean the filter when the gauge reads 10 psi above the clean starting pressure. The filter has no multiport valve and no backwash. You open it, lift the cartridge out and rinse it.
