Product details

The AquaStar A10RCFR101 is a 10 inch round sumpless suction outlet cover in white, supplied with the universal adapter kit. It is rated for single or multiple drain use, at 170 GPM at 1.7 fps for a single sumpless floor or wall installation through a 31.5 square inch opening.

Sumpless, and why that helps

Most retrofit trouble comes from what is already in the ground. A sumpless cover removes the need to match the old sump, and the universal adapter frame is built to sit over existing frames and sumps up to 10 inches round. For odd sized or non-structured frames, AquaStar lists a brass anchor kit under part number BIK4. A mud frame version of the cover is offered for new construction.

Compliance you can see

The face carries a trademarked compliance button, which means anyone on the deck can identify VGB 2008 compliance without pulling records. The cover, adapter plate, frame and screws all meet or exceed ANSI/APSP 16-2011 and NSF/ANSI 50-2009a, and the polymer has been through ASTM G154 UV exposure testing.

Materials and service life

The body is a UV resistant engineered polymer with 316 stainless steel screws, which is the combination that survives sun and sanitizer. AquaStar states that drain covers should be replaced every five years from the date of installation, so note the install date somewhere you will find it again.

Do I need a sump behind this cover?
No. It is listed as sumpless for single or multiple drain use. Follow the AquaStar installation instructions, which set out the conditions for a sumpless install.
