The Waterway 805-0000 is the tank o-ring for Crystal Water filters. It is listed for both the Crystal Water DE filters and the Crystal Water cartridge filters.
What it seals
The o-ring sits in the groove between the two halves of the filter tank, where the clamp band pulls the lid down onto the body. Filter pressure works against that joint every time the pump runs, and the ring is the only thing keeping the water inside.
When to change it
Look at it every time the tank is open. A ring that has flattened, hardened, cracked or will not sit back down in its groove should be replaced. Clean the groove out before fitting the new one, and lubricate it with a pool approved lubricant so it seats evenly as the band is tightened.
