The Sta-Rite WC9-3 is the black tank o-ring for the Posi-Flo II cartridge filter in the PTM series and the PTM 135 series, and for the separation tank assembly.
What it seals
This is the o-ring at the tank joint, the one that has to hold once the pump comes up to pressure. It lives in a groove, it takes a set from being compressed for years, and it dries out and nicks in service. A leak that starts right after a cartridge clean is almost always this ring going back in tired.
Fitting it
Clean the groove out completely before the new ring goes in, and use a silicone based lubricant made for pool o-rings. Petroleum grease will soften and swell the rubber, and the ring that was going to last several seasons will not.
