Product details

The Sta-Rite 24850-0009Z is the 25 in. filter tank O-ring for System 3 filters. It is the seal that sits between the upper and lower halves of the tank.

Get the size right

Sta-Rite lists tank O-rings by tank diameter, and there is a 21 in. ring as well as this 25 in. one. The filter model on the label is not enough on its own, so measure the tank or confirm the model plate before ordering.

Which models

The source carries two readings. The listing is titled for the S8D110, and it is also filed with the System 3 sand filter parts for the S7S50 and S8S70. Both are recorded here rather than picking one, so check yours against the tank.

Fitting

Clean the groove out completely before the new ring goes in. Grit left behind is enough to hold a ring off its seat and start the same leak again. A silicone O-ring lubricant helps a ring of this diameter settle evenly all the way around before the tank comes back together.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which System 3 filter does this fit?
It is listed as the 25 in. tank O-ring under the S8D110, and it is also filed with the System 3 sand filter parts for the S7S50 and S8S70. Both readings appear in the source, so measure your tank or check the model plate before ordering.
How is this different from the 21 in. O-ring?
Size. Sta-Rite lists a 21 in. tank O-ring for the smaller System 3 tanks as a separate part number. Match the ring to the tank diameter, not to the filter family.
Is it a genuine Sta-Rite part?
Yes. It is Sta-Rite OEM part 24850-0009Z.
Do I need lubricant?
It helps. A ring this size wants to sit evenly in its groove all the way around, and a silicone O-ring lubricant lets it slide into place instead of rolling.
