Product details

The Sta-Rite 14965-0025 is the threaded drain cap for Cristal-Flo sand filter systems. It is the genuine Sta-Rite part.

What it does

The cap closes the drain port at the base of the filter tank. It comes out whenever the filter is drained down for service or for winter, and goes back in to seal the tank for the season.

Why they fail

Drain caps take more handling than almost any other part on a filter. Threads get crossed, plastic goes brittle in the sun, and hairline cracks open up. The result is usually not a burst but a slow weep that empties the tank quietly. Fit a fresh cap, and order the Cristal-Flo drain cap o-ring at the same time, since the two seal together.
