Product details

The Sta-Rite 27002-0300S is the 300 square foot replacement modular media module for the System 2 PLM300 cartridge filter. Sta-Rite calls it MOD media: instead of several loose cartridges, the PLM filter runs a single modular element, and this is the genuine replacement for it.

When to replace

Modular media is cleaned, not backwashed. Over time the cleanings stop restoring flow, the starting pressure creeps up, and eventually the pleats or bands give out. When that happens a new module puts the filter back to its rated 300 square feet and the pressure back to where it started.

Fit

This module is for the PLM300 only. The smaller filters in the System 2 range, PLM100 through PLM200, use their own modules, so match the size stamped on your tank before ordering. Replacement is a matter of opening the tank, lifting out the old module and setting the new one in place.

Which filter does this fit?
The Sta-Rite System 2 Modular Media PLM300, the 300 square foot model. The other sizes in the PLM range, 100 through 200, take their own modules.
Is this the whole element or just part of it?
It is the complete modular media module for the PLM300, so one part number replaces the filter element in that tank.
When should I replace it rather than clean it?
When a thorough cleaning no longer brings the pressure back down, or when the media is torn, brittle or the bands have failed. Most owners get several seasons of cleanings from a module before that point.
Is it a genuine Sta-Rite part?
Yes. 27002-0300S is Sta-Rite's own part number for the 300 square foot replacement module.
