The Pentair 155333P is the systems base that carries the filter tank and the pump on several Pentair and Sta-Rite aboveground filter systems. It is the genuine Pentair part.

Fitment

Pentair publishes two fitment lists for this base. One names the Meteor filter systems, the EasyClean DE system, the Sand Dollar filter systems and the Cristal-Flo II filter system. The other adds the PXC aboveground filter and Clean and Clear systems. Both are carried here rather than choosing between them, so check your system against each and against the base you are taking off.

What a base does

It is easy to dismiss the base as a plastic tray, but it is what holds the filter outlet and the pump inlet in fixed relation to each other. Once the base cracks and the system starts to rock, the short plumbing run between the two takes all of that movement, and the unions and fittings are what fail next.

When to replace it

Cracks around the mounting bosses, a base that flexes underfoot, or a system that no longer sits level are all reasons to change it. It is a straightforward swap once the pump and tank are unbolted.
