Product details

The Pentair 272531 is the top assembly for the PacFab 1.5 in. HiFlow six way multiport valve, complete with the diverter and its gasket. Those are the parts that take the wear every time the handle is moved, and replacing them as a set is the usual fix when a HiFlow valve starts leaking to waste or refuses to hold pressure.

Where it fits

The HiFlow valve is the one fitted to the Pentair PacFab Sand Dollar SD35, SD40 and SD60 sand filters, and this top is also listed for the 261124, 261130 and 262506 top mount 1.5 in. valves. Confirm your valve is the 1.5 in. HiFlow before ordering; the 2 in. valves use different parts.

What is and is not in the box

You get the valve top, diverter and gasket. The handle, the valve top o-ring and the pressure gauge are separate parts. Since the valve is apart for this job anyway, it is worth checking the top o-ring at the same time.

Which valves does the 272531 fit?
The Pentair PacFab six way 1.5 in. HiFlow multiport valve, including the 261124, 261130 and 262506 top mount versions. It is the valve found on the Sand Dollar SD35, SD40 and SD60 sand filters.
Does it come with the diverter?
Yes. The assembly includes the top, the diverter and the diverter gasket. If you only need the diverter and gasket, that is sold separately as PAC-061-8968.
Does it include the handle or the top o-ring?
No. The HiFlow handle (PAC-061-9652) and the valve top o-ring (PAC-061-8967) are separate parts, so check whether yours are worn while the valve is apart.
How do I know the top is the problem?
Water running to waste while the handle is in Filter, pressure that will not build, or a handle that has to be forced between positions usually point to a worn diverter or gasket, both of which this assembly replaces.
