The Pentair 152227 is the stand pipe assembly for the Sand Dollar SD60 above ground pool and spa sand filter, and for the Sta-Rite Cristal-Flo II high rate sand filter on the 22 in. tank. It is the genuine Pentair part.
What it does
The stand pipe runs down the center of the tank and carries filtered water from the bottom of the sand bed back up to the valve. The laterals at its base collect that water while holding the sand back. When the pipe cracks or a lateral breaks, sand slips past and shows up in the pool through the return jets.
Before you order
Check the model on the filter label. The SD60 is the largest of the Sand Dollar tanks and the SD35 and SD40 use their own parts. Reaching the stand pipe means emptying the sand out of the tank, so plan on fresh media for the same visit.
