Pentair 272505 is the plastic washer used in PacFab top mount multiport filter valves. Two are required per valve.
Why plastic
The washer sits in a permanently wet assembly. A plastic washer will not rust, will not swell and will not seize onto the fastener it rides on, which is the whole reason the factory specified it rather than a metal one.
When to replace it
Hardware like this is easy to overlook, but a flattened or cracked washer lets the valve top seat unevenly, and an uneven seat is a slow leak or a valve that will not hold position. If the valve is already apart for a service, replace both washers while you are in there.
