Product details

The Pentair 152501 is the adapter o-ring for the PacFab 2 in. multiport valve, in both the top mount and the side mount configuration. At 8-1/4 in. diameter it is one of the large seals in the valve, which is the easiest way to tell it apart from the smaller o-rings in the same assembly.

Getting the right seal

A multiport valve carries several o-rings and gaskets, and they are not interchangeable. Before ordering, open the valve and compare what you have against the parts diagram, or measure the seal directly. Ordering by diameter is the reliable route with a part like this.

What a bad seal looks like

Water weeping from a joint on the valve body, or flow finding its way to a port it should not reach, are the signs that something inside is no longer sealing. If the problem only appears in one valve position, look hard at the spider gasket and the diverter first, since those control position by position sealing.

While the valve is open

Getting a multiport apart is most of the labor. If other seals in the valve are flattened, hard or cracked, replace them at the same time rather than doing the job twice.
