The Pentair 273208 is the multiport valve label for the 2 inch NPT valve, used on both the top mount and side mount arrangements of model 261055. It is the genuine Pentair part.
Why it is worth replacing
The label is what tells you which position is filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate and closed. It sits in full sun on top of the valve and it fades. Once the markings are gone the valve gets operated from memory, and the mistakes that follow are not small ones. Backwashing on the wrong setting can push sand or DE into the pool, and running on waste sends your water down the drain.
Fitting
It goes on in place of the old label. Confirm your valve is the 2 inch NPT version before ordering, since the smaller valves use a different label.
