This is the genuine Pentair closure o-ring, 5-3/4 inch inside diameter by 1/8 inch thick, listed as the replacement closure seal for Tagelus and Triton II filter models.

Two numbers, one part

Pentair carries it as 154493 and it also appears under the standard o-ring size O-108. Both point at the same seal, so either reference will get you here.

Where it sits

The closure o-ring is the seal between the filter body and its closure. It is compressed every time the filter is shut up, and it lives under full system pressure once the pump runs. That combination is what wears it out.

Fitting it properly

Clean the groove out before the new ring goes in, since old grit is a common cause of a fresh o-ring leaking. Use a lubricant suited to pool o-rings and seat it evenly. If a closure is weeping, the answer is a new ring rather than more force on the clamp.

My filter leaks at the closure. Is this the fix?
Usually. A closure that weeps once the filter has been opened is normally down to an o-ring that has taken a set, been nicked, or dried out. Clean the groove, fit the new ring with a suitable lubricant, and do not rely on over tightening.
