Quick overview

  • Genuine Pentair part Factory gasket R36002, matched to the Vac-Mate it seals.
  • Fits the R211100 Vac-Mate The large gasket for the pool and spa multifunction vacuum skimmer attachment.
  • Also serves the R36009 basket The same gasket is used with the R36009 Vac-Mate basket.
  • Seal, not suction loss A flattened or split gasket lets the attachment pull air instead of water, and vacuuming goes weak.
  • Wear item Rubber takes a set over a season of clamping, so a gasket is a normal service replacement rather than a failure.
  • Sold on its own Buy the gasket alone instead of replacing the whole Vac-Mate assembly.

Product details

Pentair R36002 is the large gasket for the R211100 Vac-Mate, the multifunction vacuum skimmer attachment used on pools and spas. The same gasket is listed for the R36009 Vac-Mate basket.

What it does

The Vac-Mate only works if it seals against the skimmer. This gasket is the piece that makes that seal. When it hardens, splits or takes a permanent set from being clamped down season after season, the attachment starts pulling air past the joint instead of water through the hose, and the vacuum goes weak or drops out entirely.

Before you order

There is more than one seal on a Vac-Mate assembly, so confirm you need the large one and match part number R36002. It is sold on its own, which means a five dollar gasket does the job instead of a new attachment.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which gasket is this?
The large gasket, Pentair R36002. The Vac-Mate uses more than one seal, so match the part number rather than the shape.
Will it work with the R36009 basket?
Yes. Pentair lists R36002 for the R211100 Vac-Mate attachment and for the R36009 basket.
Why has my Vac-Mate lost suction?
A hardened, split or flattened gasket is the usual cause. Once the seal stops closing, the attachment draws air and the vacuum falls off.
Is it a genuine part?
Yes. It is the Pentair OEM gasket, part number R36002.
