Product details
The Waterway 519-3240 is the replacement skimmer basket for Renegade and Skim-Pro skimmers, supplied without a handle. It measures 8.12 inches across and 5.25 inches high.
What the basket does
The skimmer basket is the first thing standing between your pool and your pump. Leaves, bugs and hair collect there where they are easy to tip out. When the basket is cracked or missing, all of that goes down the line to the pump strainer, and anything the strainer misses reaches the impeller.
Handle or no handle
Waterway lists this basket in a plain version and a handled version. This is the plain one. If your old basket had a moulded grab handle across the top, order the handled part number instead so the lid still seats correctly.
Baskets are a wear item. Chlorine and UV make the plastic brittle over a few seasons, and a basket that has gone chalky and stiff is close to splitting.
