Waterway 519-6560 is the skimmer extension ring collar for the Renegade VL in ground skimmer in the 540 model series. Waterway lists the same part as a skimmer throat extension ring, so either name refers to this piece.
What it is for
The extension ring sits between the skimmer body and the deck, raising the throat so the opening finishes level with the surface rather than recessed below it. It is what makes the difference between a skimmer that looks built in and one that sits in a hole.
Why it gets replaced
The ring is at deck level, so it takes sun, foot traffic and splashed pool water year after year. Plastic in that position eventually goes brittle and cracks, usually starting at the fixing points. A new ring restores a clean, solid opening without touching the skimmer body itself.
