Product details

This is the SuperPro O-324-9, the skimmer bottom o-ring listed for the Admiral S20. It seals the joint at the base of the skimmer body.

The leak nobody finds

Most skimmer leaks are quiet. Water escaping at the base of the body goes straight into the ground behind the wall rather than showing up as a wet patch, so the only symptom is a pool level that keeps settling at the same height around the skimmer mouth and refuses to go lower. That is the classic signature of a failed seal in the skimmer, and the bottom o-ring is one of the parts that produces it.

Fitting

Clean the groove and the mating face thoroughly before the new ring goes in, because grit trapped under an o-ring holds the joint open just as effectively as a worn ring does. A light film of silicone lubricant helps it seat and stay put. If the skimmer is already open for a basket, weir or equalizer repair, this is the moment to change it.

Where does this o-ring sit?
