Hayward SPX0097E is the face plate gasket for the SP1096, SP1097 and SP1098 skimmers. It is the genuine Hayward part.
What it seals
On a vinyl pool the gasket sits between the skimmer throat and the face plate, with the liner clamped in between. That joint is the boundary between the pool water and the wall, so a gasket that has gone hard and taken a set is one of the most common causes of a slow, hard to trace leak behind the skimmer.
When to fit one
