Product details

The Aquador 71085 is a snap on face cover, sold on its own. It fits Hayward® SP1085 skimmers and serves as the snap on cover for the Aquador 1084 closure system.

Cover only

This is the cover, not the complete assembly. The face plate that the cover snaps onto is a separate item, so look at what has actually failed before ordering. In practice the cover is the piece that goes: it is the part exposed to sun, foot traffic and freeze, and it cracks or distorts long before the plate behind it is worn out.

Snap fit

It goes on and comes off by hand. There are no screws to seize and no hardware to drop into the skimmer, which matters most at opening and closing when the cover is being handled cold and wet.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Does this include the face plate?
No. This listing is the snap on cover only. The face plate is a separate item.
Which skimmers does it fit?
It is listed as compatible with Hayward® SP1085 skimmers, and as the snap on cover for the Aquador 1084 closure system.
Is it a Hayward® part?
No. It is an Aquador part, number 71085, made to fit the Hayward® SP1085 skimmer.
Why would I replace just the cover?
The cover is the exposed piece. It takes the sun, the foot traffic and the winter, so it cracks or warps well before the plate behind it needs anything. Replacing the cover alone is usually all that is required.
