Product details

The CMP Filter Saver is a fine mesh sleeve that fits inside the skimmer basket. This is the large size, five to a package, and the socks are reusable.

What they catch

A skimmer basket is built to hold leaves and larger debris. Pollen, seed pods, fine dirt and hair go straight through it and end up in the filter. The Filter Saver goes over the basket and catches that fine material at the skimmer, where it takes half a minute to remove.

Why it saves the filter

Everything the sock traps is material the filter never has to hold. Cleanings stretch further apart, filter elements last longer and pressure climbs more slowly through the season. During pollen season or after a storm, a sock can be the difference between a quick basket check and a full filter cleaning.

Using them

Pull the basket, slide the sock over it, and put the basket back. When the sock loads up, flow through the skimmer drops off. That is the signal to rinse it and refit it.
