Hayward Skimmer Weir Assembly

The Hayward SPX1071K is the genuine weir door for Hayward in-ground skimmers, supplied as a complete assembly: the plastic door, the foam that floats it and the two spring loaded pins that hold it in the skimmer throat. It is the part previously sold as SP1071K.

What it does

The weir rides at the water line and creates the small waterfall that pulls floating leaves and oils into the skimmer. When the pump stops, the door swings shut so what was collected stays in the basket instead of drifting back out. A cracked, sunk or missing weir is the usual reason a skimmer stops pulling debris from the surface.

Before you order

Measure the door you are replacing. This weir is 8-1/2 in. by 5-5/8 in. Hayward also sells a narrower 7-3/4 in. weir and the SP1070 weir with stop pad, and neither is interchangeable with this one.
