The Hayward SPX1091K1 is the weir door for the SP1091 above ground skimmer, covering the SP1091LX and SP1091WM. It arrives as a white plastic door with two clips and one foam float.
What the weir door does
The door floats just at the water line and holds back the surface layer so leaves, oils and pollen are drawn into the skimmer instead of drifting back out. When the foam float waterlogs or a clip breaks, the door hangs loose, the surface stops clearing, and debris that used to be skimmed sinks to the floor instead.
Complete replacement
Because the clips and float are included, there is nothing to reuse from the old door. Check the back of your existing door for the SPX1091K1 or SP-1091-K1 stamp to confirm you have the right part before ordering.
