The Polaris Caretaker 3-9-501 is a bayonet style in floor cleaning head, supplied as the head on its own.

What a cleaning head does

An in floor cleaning system runs a set of heads built into the pool floor. Each one rises, throws a stream of water across its patch and drops back down, and the sequence pushes debris toward the main drain so no cleaner has to be dropped in the pool. Heads take the wear because they cycle up and down every time the system runs.
