Product details

The Polaris Caretaker 3-9-501 is a bayonet style in floor cleaning head, supplied as the head on its own.

What a cleaning head does

An in floor cleaning system runs a set of heads built into the pool floor. Each one rises, throws a stream of water across its patch and drops back down, and the sequence pushes debris toward the main drain so no cleaner has to be dropped in the pool. Heads take the wear because they cycle up and down every time the system runs.

Before you order

This listing is the head alone. Match the bayonet style to the heads already in your floor, and replace only the ones that have stopped rising, stopped turning or stopped throwing water.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What is included?
The cleaning head on its own. It is listed as the head only, so any surrounding or mounting parts are not part of this item.
What does bayonet mean here?
It refers to the style of the head. This is the bayonet version, Polaris Caretaker part 3-9-501, so match the style already in your floor.
Can I replace just one head?
Yes. In floor cleaning heads are replaced individually, so you only need to change the ones that have stopped working.
How do I know a head has failed?
A head that no longer pops up, no longer rotates through its pattern, or no longer throws a stream leaves its part of the floor dirty while the rest of the pool cleans normally.
