Quick overview

  • Fits the 8 port valve Used with the Jandy and Zodiac 8 port valve on Caretaker in floor systems.
  • Face seal Seals the face of the valve so pressure is held at the port being fed.
  • Fixes a valve that will not pause If the valve runs past an outlet port instead of dwelling on it, a worn face seal is the usual cause.
  • Genuine Caretaker An OEM Caretaker replacement part, not a generic o-ring.
  • Wear item The seal takes constant pressure and rotation, so it is expected to be replaced periodically.
  • Two part numbers Listed by Caretaker as 44209 and also referenced as 1-13-21.

Product details

This is the Caretaker Ultraflex 2 face seal o-ring, the seal that sits at the face of the Jandy and Zodiac 8 port valve. It is a genuine Caretaker OEM part.

The symptom it fixes

An 8 port valve is supposed to step around the outlets and dwell on each one long enough to drive the heads it feeds. When the face seal wears, pressure bleeds past instead of loading up on the selected port, and the valve stops pausing where it should. Owners usually notice this as heads that barely pop up, or as a valve that never seems to settle on an outlet.

Part numbers

The seal appears under two references, Caretaker 44209 and 1-13-21. They describe the same Ultraflex 2 face seal o-ring, so either number will get you here.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which valve does this seal go in?
The Jandy and Zodiac 8 port valve used with the Caretaker Ultraflex 2 in floor system.
My valve does not stop at each port. Is this the part?
That is the symptom the seal is listed for. When the valve does not pause at an outlet port, replacing a worn face seal o-ring is the first thing to try.
Why are there two part numbers?
This item shows as Caretaker 44209 and is also referenced as 1-13-21. Both point at the same Ultraflex 2 face seal o-ring.
Is it a genuine Caretaker part?
Yes. It is the Caretaker OEM replacement face seal o-ring.
