The SuperPro O-440-9 is a replacement cover o-ring for diverter valves. Cover seal, not diverter seal
This is the o-ring that sits between the valve body and the cover you unscrew to get at the diverter. It is a different part from the seals on the diverter itself, so if the valve is passing water between ports rather than leaking to the outside, this is not the part you need.
The symptom it fixes
Water weeping out from under the valve cover. Once an o-ring hardens or takes a permanent set in its groove, no amount of tightening will stop the leak. Clean the groove and the mating face, fit the new o-ring with a thin film of silicone based lubricant, and tighten the cover down evenly.
