Product details

The Super-Pro GO-KIT77-9 is a seal kit for Jandy JHP series pool pumps. It is an aftermarket kit, an alternative to ordering the factory seal parts individually.

The symptom

A shaft seal fails quietly at first: a drip between the pump body and the motor, worse when the pump is running, that dries between cycles so it is easy to miss. Left long enough, that water reaches the motor bearings and turns a small parts order into a motor replacement.

When to fit it

The seal sits behind the impeller, so it is only reachable with the wet end apart. That makes it worth changing any time the pump is opened for other work, not only when it is already leaking.
